Wow. Great reviews for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I think I'll have a chance to scope that out this weekend. The weather is supposed to be so blah - hot and humid, that I'm feeling the itch to hit the beach. Or as they say, go down the shore. My training is such that I have to run and work my legs in the same weekend so that will be a challenge. The challenge being more in trying to keep my energy level up so I can do other things and not feel wasted.

So while waiting for something, someone noticed a horrible news story. Some dude in a pick-up went the wrong way down a highway and crashed into a limo. The crash killed the limo driver and decapitated a 7-year old girl and sent the rest of the limo passengers to the hospital. The driver of the pick-up? Fractured ankle. Drunker than hell too. The mom cradled the little girl's head as the rest of her family (they just came from her sister's wedding) were cut out of the limo.

I gotta wonder how the driver of the pick-up feels right about now.

I also noticed a story on stem cell testing using apes and monkees. Apparently there's a real risk in placing human stem cells in primates. It seems as if they could start developing human characteristics including intelligence. I sense someone going "Oh shit." somewhere for some reason.

We're seeing it on Monday at an Imax theater. All I know is that it's somewhere in the vicinity of Plymouth Meeting/King of Prussia. Boyfriend is running a tight ship for this one- I think he'll have my head if the plans somehow get screwed up for this. We've been practically counting down the days until its release.

They've been showing the old version on television so it would be cool to compare the versions. It's looking to be somewhat gross this weekend so I'll probably forgo the shore and head to the movies instead. I'll be discreet if I can manage a review on Monday!
